OVERDOSE

OVERDOSES CAN BE CAUSED BY MANY THINGS.

NOT ALL OVERDOSES ARE ATTEMPTS AT SUICIDE !

They can be accidental caused by exposure to radiation, chemicals, gases, or medication.

or can be deliberate through use of illegal drugs and non-illegal so called 'Legal Highs'.

Alcohol overdose is very common in today's trend of 'Binge drinking' with young party goers.

With deliberate overdoses it must be remembered that there are underlying reasons / causes and these also need to be addressed.

WHAT SHOULD I DO ?

Keep the patient still, exertion will increase heart movement and the flow of the chemical around the blood stream.

IMMEDIATELY OBTAIN MEDICAL ASSISTANCE !

LEARNING FIRST AID

Many of us are now taught First-Aid as a requirement for work, and it is law to have a qualified first-aider in any office, factory or workspace that has more than five persons.

But as parents we should learn first-aid in case something happens to our children at home, on way to and from school or at the park.

Basic and advanced courses are cheap and regularly run by both the St. John Ambulance and the Red Cross.  (see buttons below)

Everyone should learn basic first-aid, it could save a life !
