START SLOW

Don't try to run a marathon in your first week!
Remember to warm up first!
Start off with just a few routines or limited number of sets, once you can do these comfortably then increase little by little.

ROUTINES

Fitness routines cover more than one aspect of fitness, including Cardio; Balance; Strength and Flexibility.
Choose the right one for your needs.

WHAT ARE REPS AND WHAT ARE SETS ?

Each group of moves is called a Rep. and a Set is the number of times you repeat that Rep.
eg. A Rep might consist of 5 sit-up's.. So if you are told to do 5 Sets, then it would be 25 sit-up's in total.

SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT

Remember your workspace at home, your own equipment, and the way you use it are not risk-assessed for safety as they are at a gymnasium.
Ensure they are safe and stable.

RECOGNISED FITNESS PROGRAMS

Watching a video demonstration is far easier to understand and follow than reading about it.

There are many fitness and exercise routine DVD's available to buy, many are made by celebrities.

There are also online exercise programs such as :-  Insanity ; Cize; Piyo by Beachbody(R)  and those by by Les Mills(R). But these can cost almost as much as a gym subscription and more advanced ways of fitness training.

But there are endless fitness routine videos available on the internet (Youtube) that you can watch and use for free, just choose one that suits your needs.
