AMERICAN TRUCK SIMULATOR
An amazingly realistic truck driving simulator made by SCS Software, first released on 2nd February 2016.
Available via Steam for £16.49 but often offered in various bundles. DLC prices vary, but are usually around £10.00
The basic program comes with the California State map, allowing you to drive on the west coast of the USA, but you can enlarge the area by purchasing separate DLC's for other adjoining states. At the current time there are nine extra DLC's, and a new one is made available once or twice a year expanding the drivable map further.

Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming.
Montana and Texas will soon be added in 2022
The simulator is playable with the keyboard or a handheld controller, but for the best immersion and realism you can use steering wheels, pedals and gear shifters.
A variety of trucks and trailers are provided in-game, which can be customised in layout, colour, engine size etc., but the beauty of SCS simulators is that the program allows the use of 'Mods', and there are many thousands of these available, many free, made by the simulators massive fanbase and content creators. These mods include alternative trucks, maps, trailers, engines, wheels, along with new versions of Weather, navigation devices, truck sounds or personalised logos.
Specialist creators have also made available replacement maps, these cover areas not currently covered by SCS Software, or have revamped areas which are.
